Vance Astro, also known as Major Victory, is a Marvel Comics character originating in the alternate timeline Earth-691. He first appeared in *Marvel Super-Heroes* #18 (January 1969).
Born in Saugerties, New York, in 1969, Vance Astro volunteered for Project: Starjump in 1988. He was placed in suspended animation and sent on a centuries-long journey to Centauri-IV, becoming the first human to travel to a star system outside of our own.
During his journey, his body was sustained by a copper alloy suit and his psionic powers developed. Upon arriving at Centauri-IV, he encountered the Guardians of the Galaxy, who recruited him. As Major Victory, he wields Captain America's shield which he brought from Earth, and uses his telekinetic and telepathic abilities in their fight for galactic freedom.
